The mission of the Building Services Division is to excel in meeting the needs of the college by maintaining and enhancing buildings, grounds and the college infra-structure in a cost-effective, safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Specific organizational functions include the following:
Building Maintenance: Repair and restoration of the facility.
Building Systems Maintenance: Repair, adjustment and preventive maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating and ventilation and air conditioning systems and elevators. Includes all HVAC.
Custodial: Daily cleaning of buildings, recycling and trash removal.
Landscaping and Grounds: Care and maintenance of campus parking lots, sidewalks, lawns and entrances.
Emergency Response: Assess damage, repair and restore critical utilities i.e., electricity, water, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and help with evacuation procedures.
Safety: Make sure the campus is in compliance with federal, state and MnSCU guidelines, laws, rules and policies and promote safety in the workplace.
Other Services: Assist with requests for special events including room setups, cleaning and safety.
