Q: What is your backgrond and teaching position at Normandale?
A: At NCC, I have had an excellent opportunity to teach my passion to a wide variety of students. My intention in teaching is to aid in the process of discovery. I am most passionate about people discovering who they truly are and how to have their voices in the world. I teach HeartSight and Authentic Communication.
Q: What is your teaching philosophy and style?
A: My teaching philosophy encompasses my desire to empower people with information, to inspire them with stories and to offer opportunities for integration. My teaching style is playful, interactive, fluid and open-minded. I include many experiential exercises so students may integrate the information presented.
Q: What experience do you have with Energy Awareness?
A: I have spent the past 20 years consciously working with the energy of human beings, primarily in healthcare. As a social scientist, I have observed the behavior and energetic exchange of humans in many different environments. My experience with Energy Hygiene has allowed me to understand human interaction on a much deeper level of awareness. In all my work, I have incorporated the chakra system, the life-force essence and the vibration or tone of each individual with whom I engage. This allows me to see and hear an individual in a deeply authentic way.
Q: How did you become interested in the healing arts?
A: I became interested in the healing arts after having had back surgery when I was 21 years old. I had a divinely inspired experience which changed the course of my life and allowed me to surrender to a source much greater than any of us. As a result, I remembered that I am here to inspire others to broaden their consciousness, to expand the vastness of their hearts and to support their process in remembering who they truly are. The healing arts provide an excellent opportunity for self-realization.
Q: How does Energy Awareness affect our health and lives?
A: As human beings, we are constantly giving, receiving and exchanging energy. Having awareness of our energy and what we are doing with it can help us maintain optimal health and a satisfying life. How we allow others' energy to impact us will determine our overall sense of self and state of balance. Many people live in a constant state of confusion and/or fatigue because they allow their energy to be drained by others or they absorb the energy of their environments. Having awareness of energy empowers us because we can consciously choose how we give, receive and exchange energy.
Q: How can individuals, healthcare professionals or others benefit from Energy Awareness?
A: The greatest benefit from having awareness of energy is personal empowerment. Taking responsibility for your energy and how you allow others' energy to impact you will support you in having the energy you need to live the life you want to live. Healthcare professionals exchange so much energy in their work that they can burn out quickly. Learning how to work in healthcare with good energy hygiene can increase job satisfaction and intrinsic wholeness.
