Welcome to Normandale Community College!
I am honored and pleased to have been selected to serve as the fourth president of Normandale. After thirty years in higher education and many years in the legislature, I couldn't be more thrilled to be here, particularly in view of the incredible leadership of my predecessors who led the college to its current level of excellence.
Normandale is the crown jewel of the community college system. You'll find academic and career-bound programs that, in my estimation, are second to none. And along with it, you'll discover an exciting college environment that extends far beyond the classroom and lab. You'll get to know our team of instructors who are truly dedicated to Normandales mission of ensuring you the highest quality educational experience possible. And you'll receive an added dimension of support from qualified counselors and staff members who share in the fulfillment of this mission.
In addition, the variety of opportunities to be found in our student life activitiesclubs, student government, recreational sports and other organizationsprovide a winning combination for a lasting success that extends long after graduation.
Youll come to appreciate the close connections Normandale shares with our surrounding communities. Our Center for Service-Learning recently received an excellence award for giving students unique opportunities to get involved in community outreach. And the Normandale Community College Foundation, comprised of local business leaders, brings a variety of alternative financial resources as well as programs such as the Academy for Math and Science to support the many student scholarships available to you.
As increasing numbers are making Normandale their academic choice, we are working to discover more exciting opportunities to grow and expand our reach to serve underserved and emerging communities. In addressing all these opportunities for growth and improvement, I want you to know that service to students remains our calling as we strive to create futures and change lives.
